My Styling Guide & Tips

Style and Select- First I emailed you a link to my online personal styling assisstant just for you. This is a free service I offer all of my clients. It is amazing!! It lets you choose outfits and see how they cordinate and then it will email you links to the outfits! Super Simple! It’s pretty much life changing.

• I always recommend picking 2-3 coordinating colors and maybe one pop of pattern. Lets start with Mom. I mean if Mom isn’t happy who is? So mom treat yourself, you want to feel amazing. There is something I love about moms in dresses. It also gives a different depth to your photos. Maybe pick a flattering pattern and don’t forget to accentuate the thing you love most about yourself. 

• The rest of the family are like puzzle pieces. Maybe next to clothe are the kids because they are so fun to shop for. For example I love when one of the girls is in a dress and one in a romper or one of the boys is in jeans and a button up shirt and the other has suspenders. Changing that up is perfection. And finally we dress dad, men look good in about anything. I recommend not wearing something with big logos on them, it can be distracting and will not mesh with the feelings or moments being captured.

• Layering/Accessorizing- Nothing pops more in photos than having some layers and accessorizing. I mean think about when you walk into a clothing store, even Old Navy’s models are wearing layers like a cute dress with a vest or the boy dressed in pants with a shirt and jacket. Accessorizing isn’t just a necklace on a girl, it’s a hat on a boy or a bowtie and suspenders. It might be some popping heels on mom that adds the spice. Adding these to your families wardrobe will make for unique pictures. 

• Shoes- Oh heck yeah they matter! Its like would you want to try a 3 layer cake that had a pretty topper and super yummy frosting that was sitting on an old cardboard box? Oh no thank you. Choosing a simple shoe that coordinates will make a difference. 

• Hair and makeup- Is this a must? Not Necessarily! But will you be able to see the difference? That is an easy answer: Yes! Clients also say that it is so much less stress when it’s one less thing they have to worry about. If you’re interested, let me know I have a couple people I can recommend.
